Scheduled Data Center Upgrades

June 19th, 2008

Start time: 22-JUNE-2008 at 02:00 am CDT (Sunday)
End time: 22-JUNE-2008 at 04:00 am CDT (Sunday)
Expected Outage/Downtime: 2 hours downtime

The purpose of this work is to perform infrastructure upgrades on the network core to add additional features and performance improvements.

During this maintenance window, you will experience one or more brief interruptions in service while we complete the maintenance activities; the interruptions are expected to last less than 1 hour downtime total. However, due to the complexity of the work, your downtime may be longer.

Our network operations engineers closely monitor the work and will do everything possible to minimize any inconvenience to you. If you have any problems with your connection after this time, or if you have any questions regarding the maintenance at any point, please feel free to email our call our support line.

Scheduled Data Center Maintenance

June 6th, 2008

On Monday morning June 9th at 2am we will be performing a scheduled power maintenance window. Some intermittent connectivity may occur. The scheduled maintenance should be completed within 30 minutes and everything should be stable by 2:30am.

Power Outage :: Generator Power

April 10th, 2008

Due to violent thunderstorms in the DFW area, commercial power to the data center was lost. ETR is 12 PM CDT. The data center is running on generator power. We are currenty experiencing a problem with webmail and control panel access. These issues will be restored by this afternoon. If you are experiencing an issue accessing your website, please contact us for more information.

Intermittent Network Connectivity

February 4th, 2008

Our layer 1 network provider suffered a major disruption in their fiber last night, January 31st, at approximately 11:50PM Central Standard Time. This disruption caused a problem from the time it occurred until 7:50AM, February 1st. Since this was a major layer 1 outage we lost most of our redundancy except for some smaller non-fiber circuits. The failover methodology our provider has in place for such an occurrence failed to automatically fail our circuits over to the Protect side of the DPT ring. We sincerely apologize for any issues this disruption may have caused, and are investigating additional options to prevent future problems like this from occurring.

Emergency Power Maintenance

June 28th, 2007

On June 27, 2007, our data center lost commercial power by it’s carrier TXU. Multiple power grids were effected. Currently, our commercial power has been fully restored. We are unable to comment on the cause of the TXU outage at this time. During the loss of power some servers were supported through generators.

PHP option “allow_url_fopen” is now disabled

September 25th, 2006

The PHP option allow_url_fopen is now disabled on our servers. Opening remote files through the standard file functions is generally not recommended, or desired, because it can be a source of XSS attacks in poorly written PHP code.

The decision to disable allow_url_fopen was made after a site compromised by a XSS attack was discovered this morning. If your site requires allow_url_fopen to operate properly, we can enable it on a case by case basis.

Emergency Power Maintenance

September 19th, 2006

Emergency power maintenance was performed this morning at 4:08 AM CST. Repairs were completed within 30 minutes.

Network Outage

August 15th, 2006

The outage on 8/14/06 @ approimately 4:45PM CDT was caused by a fiber cut. Our fiber optic links are redundant but the location of the cut occured at a location that subverted our redundancy. The receive legs of the fiber optic cable were cut which caused our provider circuits to go down. The problem was corrected at 5:45PM CDT and all systems were fully operational shortly thereafter.

Network Infrastructure Upgrades

August 14th, 2006

We will be performing network infrastructure upgrades during the maintenance window beginning Wednesday 8/16/06 at 2:00AM CDT and ending Wednesday 8/16/06 at 4:00AM CDT. Customers may experience degraded connectivity during this time lasting up to 30 minutes.

Network infrastructure maintenance

July 10th, 2006

We will be performing maintenance on our core network infrastructure beginning 7/12/06 at 2AM CDT and lasting till 7/12/06 at 4AM CDT. Customers may experience intermittent connectivity during this time lasting up to 15 minutes.
