Basic Matrix joined the protest against PIPA and SOPA today. We censored our logos on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and also our own website. Additionally, visiting our home page or clicking the censored logo in our website's theme header with display a call to action with an informational video about PIPA and SOPA. This message is prominently displayed and posted without warning, just like a take down notice would be if PIPA/SOPA is signed into law.

We must take this attack on the web and free speech very seriously. Piracy is a real problem, but these bills are over-reaching and will not solve anything. The Internet will never be the same if the United States chooses to travel down the road of censorship. Please contact your Senators and Representatives today!

Call to Action

Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business.
